Questions about hair extensions?

I am wondering how long extensions last before they have to be replaced or "touched up". I have heard that it depends on how you have them put in?

Also, how do you care for them? Do you treat them like your normal hair? Can they be washed, combed/brushed like normal hair?

Can extensions be reused or do you have to buy new hair everytime you need a touch up?

How much should extensions and having them put in cost?

Questions about hair extensions?

I have had both glue and the weaved extensions. The glued lasted about 3 months before i went in to have a touch up and the weave only lasted a month because the hair become really loose. You take care of them both like normal hair; you can blow dry, curl and straighten them. You have to be careful with the glue ones not to over heat them and you brush them they same you just have to be easy where they attach. The weaved hair thinned out but they could be reused for at least an extra month, but you are better off to get new ones. The glued can be taken out and put back in, they hold much nicer. How much they cost will depend on where you get them done. The glued ones cost me about $700 and looked amazing! The weaved was $400 and didn't look as good, but it worked for me. I would recommend getting the cheaper ones because i found the novelty of really long hair wore off fast, its a lot of work. Also with the weaved ones my hair was a bit damaged and with the glue it had no affect on my hair at all, its also something to concider

Good luck

Questions about hair extensions?

I had extensions from the end of June to the middle of October.

I got it done the fusion way.

You can treat them like your normal hair if you get human hair extensions... you need a soft bristle brush for your roots and a regular brush for your ends though.

Also, when washing them, split your hair into two seperate sides. Shampoo one side, wash it out, condition. Do the same to the other side.

Try not to get too much hair products near your roots or the beginning of the extension because it may loosen it.

It isn't a good idea to reuse extensions. They will twist and get all stringy.

I got my extensions put in for $1,600. Plus a $150 tip.

The more expensive they are, the better they turn out.

Good luck.

Also know that your hair is going to be EXTREMELY thin after getting them removed.

Questions about hair extensions?

There are two types of extensions. There are those that get "glued" onto your hair and there are those that are on clips. I have the ones that are on clips.... they can be worn as many times as you wish... I take them out to wash them which I usually wash them after 3 to 4 wears. There very low maintenance. I paid about $225 Canadian $$ for mine. Mine are Raquel Welch... you can actually buy them off of ebay at a great price!!
