What does it mean to "taut" your hair ?

I just bought a new product called 'Suddenly Straight' and the directions say:

1.Distribute Suddenly Straight liberally between palms if hands and massage well into damp hair. Make sure all hair is coated.

2.For fast results and beautiful shiny, straight hair. Divide hair into sections. Hold hair straight and TAUT with hand or brush and style with a ceramic iron.

3.For silky smooth straight hair, hold hair straight and taut with brush and blow dry.
