one of my friends had that treatment done a couple of weeks ago in a hair salon...he told me they used an hair product to straighten his hair and they brushed it backwards until it got perfectly straighten...it's a permenant treatment ..and its not the japanese one...it costs around 60$ ...so i was wondering what kind of product (brush too) they used on him and where can i find it.
the problem was that his old hair (which had a treatment) was perfeclty straight...but the new hair that was growing was curly as usual...so thats why i want to know what the product is called so i can do it myself and avoid spending too much money on updates...can someone help me please?

Actually any permanent wave solution, the ones you can buy over the counter, will work well. You just apply the solution (the smelly one) and use a brush or comb to comb your hair until it's straight. Of course, any new curly hair will have to have it applied to straighten it also. If you were to roll the hair and apply this concoction, it would make the hair permanently (for about 2-3 months) curly. If you comb it through curly hair without the rollers, it will straighten it!

You can either use a hair straightener, which is pretty harsh. Or you can use a perm solution, and just brush it straight during the treatment process. I think from the description, that this is what they used.

If you are asking this question because you want to get the chemical and do it yourself, that is a very BAD IDEA. They do this procedure at salons with trained professionals because the toxicity of these products is very high. You could put yourself, your friends, or your pets in danger if you have it in your house.

I think it is ammonia but i do not know for sure..it is the same stuff they use in perms (to make your hair curly) they just brush out your hair instead of putting it in curlers. I got a perm done recently. It smells really bad but it ended up great. I do not recommend doing it at home though. I know people who have had it go wrong and their hair got so brittle it started breaking until they couldn't have it processed again until they totally grew out their hair.
