When I wash my hair, it goes curly but messy, how do i keep the curls neat without brushing them out

when i brush them out it goes wavy and dry, could anybody suggest some hair cream or something that will let me have neat, lasting curls. I have just had my hair cut to a bit below shoulder length, i am mixed race with quite soft hair.

Thank you

after your hair is dry try using chi pliable polish, use a small amount and just run ir thru your hair it wil keep the curls in place and leave your hair shiny %26amp; it smells good also

have the same problem but i stopped brushing my curls out after i got out of the shower i put a head towel and wrap it around my head but dont flip head over and wrap or you will get messy curls from that you probably know what i mean though. then after it is somewhat dry/damp take the towel off slowly without tousling the hair too much and put in some spray in leave in conditioner but not too much ! and let it air dry. that should help with that problem you might have to tweak it a lil depending on how frizzy your hair is usually . dont use too much conditioner and leave in conditioner though or your hair will come out oily. trust me i have done that enough times to know. good luck and try again if it doesnt come out exactly right the first time . you will learn what and how much of a product your hair needs .

also the first answerer is right too. but you have to put it in when it is still wet but not dripping wet. good luck!

I have the same problem...naturally curly hair is super fun isn't it? Sigh...the bedhead products are good, my savior in fact. Try curling shampoos, those seem to be a good idea. But after looking at this and thinking about it...I honestly just realized I straighten my hair so I don't have to deal with this problem ha. CHI products are awesome for straightening. Any actual questions go to a beauty salon--that's their job to answer these questions, and I'm sure they'll have something reasonably priced for you too!
